downstairs accommodation
The units in the farmhouse kitchen are all locally made from solid wood with proper joints! and house all the utensils and equipment you would expect to find in your own well-equipped kitchen. Everything is in matching stainless steel and in sets (for those who dislike mis-matched bits and pieces!). Additional child-safe picnicware and beakers are provided.
A Britannia gas/electric cooker with two ovens; microwave oven; dishwasher and fridge freezer are standard items.
There is ample room for 6 people to sit around the kitchen table and enjoy a leisurely breakfast.
French doors lead out onto the extremely substantial patios where you can sit at a picnic table, or laze on the grass and enjoy the views. The patios go right around the house and are real sun-traps - if it's too hot there's more than enough room to find plenty of shade. For those of you who like to sunbathe 'au naturel' most of Parc-y-Teg is hidden from prying eyes, so why not!
High quality gas barbecue equipment is provided and, as well as the picnic table's seats, outdoor sunloungers are included.
There is a separate utility room (where pets can sleep in comfort), housing your washing machine and tumble dryer. There's more than enough room here to keep all your walking and outdoor gear as well.
For more formal occasions, there's a small dining room, with a dining table and seating for six people.
Off the dining room is the TV room - with plenty of comfy seats (Parc-y-teg caters for 6 people, but there are plenty more seats than that so that you can spread out a bit!). The TV room has a wood-burning stove for you to use in case the evenings turn chilly - wood in the old barn. There's a TV and a DVD player for the 80+ DVDs in your library. For those who'd prefer a quiet evening in, the sitting room holds a library of over 150 hardback books (mostly novels, with some reference books, and all from our own library) for you to read. Sit quietly and read or play board games with your family and friends - there's a very good selection of family favourites. The sitting room also has an open fire (plenty of wood in the Barn - just help yourself!) although the house is centrally heated.
